Hello Everybody!
Welcome to my new blog. First I must tell you the reason for the title. I decided to call it "16 Minutes to Auckland" because on my first trip to New Zealand to see my daughter, after sitting on a plane for 14 hours and 7 movies I thought I might die. My back hurt, my legs hurt, I felt grubby and (not to mention) TIRED. I watched "Little Miss Sunshine" 4 times. And BTW 3 years later, they still have it on the menu on Air New Zealand. Anyways, I certainly did not feel like "Little Miss Sunshine" when I arrived. We flew through the night and as light began to appear in the sky I felt hope that soon it would be over (the plane trip I mean). Then the sun began to rise!! I stood up in the aisle and took a picture of the sunrise with my camera thinking that it would never turn out because I was shooting through the plane window. Voila! It is now one of my favorite pictures because it signaled the end of this long sky vogage. This is now my third trip to New Zealand and I want to share it with you. Please give me your feedback and help me along, as this is my first attempt at a blog!

ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic blog so far and wonderful picture! I can't imagine being on a 14 hour flight but it's amazing what one will do to pass the time. I'm looking forward to reading more about your excursion. Take care and all the best!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Lizzie! Good for you for doing this. Please continue with more about the "16 minutes" ...something to do with the time change? Love to you, Emily and Leon!
